Introduction

PictureHere is an image of where Ancient Mesopotamia is located.
Ancient Mesopotamia had many civilizations, with different dates.  Ancient Mesopotamia had ancient cities in a city-state called Sumer, and the oldest cities can date back to 3500 B.C.E..  Mesopotamia also had four empires that lasted from 2300 to 539 B.C.E..

In the 21st century, historians still study Ancient Mesopotamia. They still study this ancient civilization because they wonder about the type of people who lived in ancient Mesopotamia.  Archaeologists also study artifacts to study Mesopotamia.  They studied pottery, and they dug in the grounds where Ancient Mesopotamia was.  So in conclusion, Ancient Mesopotamia is still studied by historians today.
